Attendance
Every Day Counts
At High Bank, regularly attending school is vital in order for your child to reach their full potential. Our values ensure that if your child is late or if they are absent, then they know that they are missed in school. Absence affects a child's learning and if your child is regularly absent then this will impact negatively on their progress. It is parents and carers' responsibility to ensure that a child regularly attends school and absence from school without a valid reason can result in prosecution.
For more information regarding persistent absence, holidays and sickness please see our Attendance Policy.
At High Bank, we have very high expectations of attendance. We expect children to be at school on time, every day. Attendance is monitored and tracked to ensure that pupils are safe and that they are in school accessing the learning they are entitled to. Parents and carers are expected to support the school by ensuring your child attends school regularly and has good attendance. There are ways the school can also support you. Our Pupil & Family Wellbeing Lead can offer support and advice if you are struggling to get your child to attend school. Please contact Mrs Reynolds-Browne if you need to discuss your child's attendance. In addition to this, the government document 'Guidance for parents on school attendance - Office of the Children's Commissioner' also has advice. Please find a copy of this by clicking the LINK.
